AIRPORTS MUST ENSURE BETTER, MORE SECURE JOBS

February 25, 2019

An ACCC airport monitoring report released today found profits for Australia’s four main airports – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth – jumped to $2.2 billion in the last financial year.
At the same time many aviation workers struggle to get more than 15 hours per week with many paid below award wages.
It’s time to #ChangeTheRules. Airports are at the top of the aviation supply chain and have enormous power in determining work conditions.
They must be held to account for these low paid, insecure jobs.
This is why airport workers and TWU members are ready to fight for secure, full-time jobs with decent pay and conditions to ensure the aviation industry is fairer and safer.
