BIG WIN – IN-PRINCIPLE AGREEMENT REACHED WITH THE DYSON GROUP

December 14, 2018

Our TWU Bus members had another big win today after receiving an offer from the Dyson Group that we believe meets our log of claims.

We now have an in-principle agreement and your EA negotiating committee have agreed to suspend next Tuesday’s proposed 24-hour strike.

This will allow our Dyson’s members the opportunity to vote on the proposal.

The successful negotiation means that Dyson’s members now join the over 3000 CDC, Transdev and Ventura members who have secured the 4+1 Bus Industry Agreement.

TWU (VIC/TAS Branch) Secretary John Berger said “the win shows what is possible when workers stick together with solidarity and with a common goal.”

“The TWU is very proud of the thousands of bus members who have so far fought and secured the 2018 Agreement,” he said.

“These members are a shining example for all Australian unionists of what can be achieved through hard-work, dedication and loyalty. Well done to grassroots members, the negotiating committee and our bus organisers.”

A final draft document will go to members for endorsement should they vote to accept the proposal.
