BUS INDUSTRY EBA HEATING UP

February 6, 2018

The 2018 TWU-BUS EBA process will start soon with each operator.

Until then the TWU/BAV Industry Agreement talks continue.

The TWU is pushing for a minimum of 4% per year wage rise and 1% per year increase to employer superannuation contributions.

Remember we are stronger-together and the more members behind us the harder we can push so tell your workmates to join the TWU today. And watch this space.

TWU-BUS members would know that most Victorian bus operators work with the TWU to develop heat policies. But that does not stop heatwave conditions taking a toll, and so TWU-BUS officials have been handing out chilled bottles of water to heat-stressed drivers punching the clock on those recent 40+C days in Melbourne.

There are few more hot days predicted for the remainder of the week and we encourage all members to peruse the WorkSafe working in heat guidance note and let us know if you are being forced to work in unsafe conditions.

We want every member to get home safely at the end of their shifts.

TWU (Vic/Tas Branch) Secretary John Berger, along with TWU-BUS organisers, has been visiting bus depots to discuss issues relevant to the industry around a BBQ.

All members should note that, if you don’t have a TWU BBQ scheduled, ask your delegate to ring us and we will put one in the calendar. John is pictured here at the Geelong CDC depot.
