JETSTAR CABIN CREW EBA UPDATE: MORE REASONS TO VOTE NO

September 6, 2017

Another day, another reason for Jetstar cabin crew to vote NO to the rushed, substandard deal made behind closed doors between the FAAA and Jetstar management.

This time we have major concerns about a bungled voting process shrouded in secrecy – never a good thing for workers.

Elections Australia has told the TWU that Jetstar provided the agency with the incorrect details of its employees.

Jetstar is telling the TWU it will re-open the vote on September 10, despite Elections Australia saying the mistake could be rectified in ‘ten minutes if the list was sent through now.’

Members must ask themselves whether this is GROSS INCOMPETENCE or PURPOSEFUL STALLING TACTICS? It has to be one or the other and either way shines a poor light on Jetstar.

The vote will now open on Sunday 10 September at 9am and close on Friday 15 September at 12 noon, according to an email from Jetstar.

The TWU has continued to pressure Jetstar to come clean on this latest incident, but has been met with purposeful road blocks.

This latest bungle is indicative of a bargaining process which has been fraught with blatant stuff-ups and a lack-of-transparency from the beginning.

As a result, the member-led TWU, is strongly recommending a NO VOTE until a better, fairer, more open Agreement can be reached.

A backwards step in your conditions, negotiated behind closed doors, should not be tolerated. Remember, just VOTE NO.

The TWU has been working towards a fair and equitable deal for its Jetstar flight attendant members for over a year and we are proud of our track-record in delivering members working in the aviation industry high, uniform wages.

VOTE ‘NO’ TO SHOW JETSTAR

• TWU MEMBERS DEMAND A BETTER, FAIRER EBA

• TWU MEMBERS WON’T ACCEPT A SUBSTANDARD EBA

• TWU MEMBERS ARE STICKING TOGETHER FOR A BETTER FUTURE

Tell your mates, now is the time to join the TWU. TOGETHER CABIN CREWS ARE STRONGER. Join now for a better future.
