Rates and running costs schedules, developed by the Transport Industry Council, will represent a typical set of costs for different vehicles types and sizes within industry sub sectors. The rates and cost schedules represent a useful tool for owner drivers and hirers who otherwise may not know what typical rates or costs may be.

Rates and costs schedules will vary depending on the type and age of vehicle used, financing arrangements, kilometers traveled, and the nature of the work performed. Calculating rates and costs schedules can be complex, but the TWU can provide owner driver members with assistance in calculating the rates they need to work safely.

If you are a TWU member, contact your Organiser for assistance in this area.
