UNITED & STRONG IN 2017

May 11, 2017

The Union’s Port Melbourne offices have been bustling with activity this year as delegates from all transport industries have been in to prepare members’ claims or assist in negotiating one of the 50-odd EBAs the Branch will work on this year.

It is just another example of the long hours these members work to ensure all members have a voice and an advocate on the job. And they never let anyone forget there’s a union in your yard. We have also been rolling out the training programs so delegates and OH&S representatives are able to provide effective leadership in the workplace and not be afraid to speak up to management.

It is encouraging to see so many enthusiastic people are out there in yards providing high standards of assistance to members, promoting and campaigning for improved conditions of employment and safety and dealing with breaches of any industrial instrument or OHS issues as they arise.

Thank you.

United and strong we stand in 2017 for a better transport industry.

If you are a delegate or OH&S representative and want to help plan the future of your industry – register today for the 2017 TWU Vic/Tas Branch Delegates Conference at https://twu.asn.au/delegates-conference/ – to be held at Moonee Valley Racecourse on August 11.
