WAGE THEFT LAWS ON THE LINE

November 23, 2018

Victoria Labor has promised to make wage theft a crime if re-elected, with dodgy bosses who deliberately underpay workers to face jail and large fines.

In case anyone has forgotten, the TWU is so serious about eradicating wage theft from the transport industry that Vic/Tas Branch Secretary John Berger tabled the Wage Theft Resolution at the 2017 ALP State Conference.

John called for the act to be criminalised and the worst offenders jailed. And that is exactly what Premier Daniel Andrews has promised to do.

These laws will not only secure a safer and better future for thousands of transport workers – but all Victorian workers.
