1st Fleet members locked out

May 3, 2012
1st Fleet, a national trucking company, today locked out its entire workforce. The company is now in the hands of Administrators who have handed termination notices to our members.

John Berger, Branch Assistant Secretary said, “Our members are now left with an uncertain future.”
“The Union will do everything it can to assist and represent its members. The Administrators have already indicated they would be working closely with us,” said Mr. Berger.

TWU members were not aware of the impending lock-out until they reported for work this morning. Some of the company’s owner drivers have not been paid for more than 8 weeks.

The Union will be keeping its 1st Fleet members informed of any developments throughout the Administration process.
