Delegates are the engine room of the TWU.

They mobilise, represent and defend members and ensure they stay safe and receive the best possible wages and conditions.

Our offices have been a hive of activity this week with delegates from across the transport sector undertaking specialised training to ensure that no one forgets the TWU is in their yards.

Major improvements in the lives of working people in Australia can be traced back to the hard work of union delegates and OHS representatives and the unity of grassroots members. Don’t believe us?

They helped win the five-day working week, minimum safety standards, paid parental, personal, carers and holiday leave, weekends, superannuation, RDO’s, overtime, penalty rates, equal pay, the creation of skilled and sustainable jobs, collective bargaining, income protection, unfair dismissal and redundancy rights.
