Downer EA progress report

August 9, 2016

The TWU member-led Downer Infrastructure Services EA committee has put its log of claims 2016-2019 to management.

The committee is due to meet with Downer management next week to press the claims.

The demands put forward by the committee included a 4-per-cent wage increase to apply from July 1, 2016, and or CPI, whichever is the greater for 2017 and 2018.

The log also included claims relate to employer superannuation contributions, apprenticeship provisions and establishment of a mentor allowance, inclusion of a “fatigue day” after completion of Roster for Duty and changes to overtime provisions.

Allowances for back-up crews, excavator work and Tool of Trade were also included, along with changes to lieu and break allowances.

Members will be advised in regards to any developments.

The TWU would like to thank TWU EA committee members Allan Elder and Chris Franco and all TWU members in general for supporting their delegates and the Union in remaining strong and united.
