The Union threw its support behind a community protest yesterday that asked the Baillieu Government to honour a Labor promise to build freeway ramps to ease truck congestion in the inner West suburbs of Yarraville and Footscray.
Wayne Mader, Branch Secretary said, “The ramps would provide truck drivers with better and direct access to the port and surrounding transport depots, easing congestion on local streets.”
“The Labor Government allocated the seed funds for this important project and now Mr. Baillieu and his Liberal Government have put the project on hold,” said Mr. Mader.
