HAIR-RAISING FUND-RAISING
Jess Duvoison, the staunch daughter of staunch Murray Goulburn Leongatha TWU member Barry Duvoisin, is going to shave her long curly locks to help beat blood cancer.
The 14-year-old has never cut her hair before but will get the big snip to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave.
Jess said a donation of just $53 would “be a big help for families all over Australia” as it would ensure someone being treated in hospital receives a personal visit from a highly-trained health professional.
“This is so they get the extra support they need. Blood cancer claims more lives than breast cancer or melanoma. And today another 35 people will be given the devastating news they have leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or another blood disorder,” Jess said.
Good on you, Jess. It is people like you that make this world a better place.
Please be aware: the webpage says the shave was 16 March, but was moved back to 28 March.
