Members at Hanson Transport have won a new and improved lunch room out at Lysterfield.
Workers previously had only a small, run down and inadequate lunch room that was shared with the mechanics who also work on site. Members felt it was time to raise their concerns.
A workgroup was set up between the TWU, OHS Reps, Delegate Barry Orr and management who started brain storming ideas for a more suitable driver facility. All parties agreed that by going forward it was time for a more suitable facility for the drivers.
As you can see from the photo below the negotiations were successful and a suitable lunch room and outside shelter has been won. The TWU Vic/Tas Branch would like to congratulate the members and Delegate Barry Orr who got organised and saw this process patiently through.
