Members should be aware of the latest Jetstar Services EBA Update.
Last year Jetstar made changes to how and when overtime is paid if you are on leave. These changes mean that leave hours are not included in ordinary hours when calculating overtime.
THIS ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH. THAT’S WHY THE TWU IS DISPUTING THE POLICY CHANGES IN THE FAIR WORK COMMISSION.
Last Monday (9 Jan) we met Jetstar in the Commission.
The company made it clear they don’t want to change the new policy and so have forced us into a longer legal battle.
We’ll keep you updated on the progress of the matter, but for now here are the next steps:
MONDAY 13 FEB: Deadline for TWU submissions and evidence to Commission.
MONDAY 13 MAR: Deadline for Jetstar submissions and evidence to Commission.
MONDAY 20 MAR: Deadline for TWU response to Jetstar submissions and evidence.
TUESDAY 11 APR: Hearing date in the Fair Work Commission.
The TWU is continuing to press your claims for better rates and conditions.
