TASMANIA DELEGATES TRAINING

July 19, 2019

TWU (Vic/Tas Branch) Tasmania-based Delegates this week endorsed and began planning for our 2020 “Same Job, Same Pay, Same Fight” campaign during a two-day Delegates Training Conference in Launceston.

Tasmanian members are preparing for a big 2020 with many local transport companies due to begin negotiations for new enterprise agreements next year.

It was a great pleasure to welcome Senator for Tasmania Senator Catryna Bilyk and Tasmania Labor leader Rebecca White (pictured below with John Berger) to the first day of training.

Branch Secretary John Berger, Assistant Branch Secretary Chris Fennell, National Assistant Secretary Nick McIntosh and Tasmanian North Organiser Steve Moszko also attended what was a highly-entertaining and informative event.

In the last 12 months, 5800 jobs have disappeared from Tasmania and 1-in-10 people say they don’t have enough work. Members should tell their workmates – now is the time to join the TWU.

Our Delegates and OHS Representatives are our grassroots leaders, the union’s driving force and integral to our success and our 2020 plans.

So get behind them, because they always have your back.
