Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has told media that the slowdown in household savings “reflects consumers’ confidence in the economy that they can feel they can spend”.

What the slowdown really means is that trickle-down economics hasn’t worked.

How is households having no capacitiy for discretionary saving good for the economy?

His words are a huge slap in the face for the thousands of Australian workers living paycheck to paycheck, including many transport workers, because of the Coalition’s cutting of penalty rates and increasing casualisation.

We need to vote this deluded mob out and #ChangeTheRules
