Yarra Trams Works Advice

August 15, 2013

Yarra Trams will be conducting works to renew sections of tram tracks that may affect traffic and bus services.

Works Details:
Location: Along Victoria Avenue and Bridport Street in Albert Park
Date/Time: From approximately 12:01am Saturday 24 August and continuing 24 hours a day until 5:00am on Monday 26 August.

The work needs to be conducted on the weekend, outside normal working hours, in order to minimise disruption and ensure the site reopens to traffic and trams on Monday morning, in time for the new working week. During the work the following traffic alterations will be in effect:

The work zone along Victoria Avenue and Bridport Street in Albert Park will be closed to traffic, as shown in the map below

Access to the work zone through Montague Street, Faussett Street, Merton Street, Victoria Avenue, and Cardigan Street will not be permitted

Traffic will be diverted around the work zone and on-road parking may be affected

Traffic is being diverted via Montague Street, Kerferd Street, Richardson Street and other surrounding streets, as shown in the traffic detours map attached

Buses will replace trams between Stop 14 Arts Precinct and the South Melbourne Beach terminus in both directions, although other traffic will only be diverted around the Albert Park work site.

Please find attached a traffic management map for your review. Traffic management will be on site to assist motorists, cyclists and pedestrians during the works.
